- How is a quote worked out?
- A quote is based on the surface type, the approximate area, site access and ground conditions. Submitting the quote form gives us enough detail to follow up with next steps — a site assessment is typically needed before a final, fixed quote can be confirmed.
- Do you need to visit my property before quoting?
- For an accurate, fixed quote, yes — ground conditions, drainage, access and existing surfaces all affect the scope of work, and these are best assessed on site rather than estimated remotely.
- How long does an artificial grass installation take?
- This depends on the size of the area, existing ground conditions, and how much excavation and base preparation is needed. Timeframes are confirmed as part of the quote once the site has been assessed — we don't publish a generic turnaround time here because it varies too much by project.
- Is artificial grass safe for pets?
- Artificial grass is widely used in pet areas because it doesn't get muddy or patchy under regular use. As with any pet area, drainage and easy cleaning are worth discussing at quote stage, since these affect the base design and product choice.
- What's the difference between paving and tar for a driveway?
- Paving uses individual interlocking units that can be repaired section by section, with more design flexibility. Tar (asphalt) gives a continuous, seamless surface that's often quicker to lay over larger areas but harder to repair invisibly. Our guide, Paving vs Tar, covers this in detail.
- Can you install over an existing surface?
- Sometimes, depending on the condition of the existing surface and what's being installed over it — but in many cases the existing surface needs to be removed so a proper base can be built. This is assessed on a site-by-site basis.
- Do you offer combined projects, like paving and artificial grass together?
- Yes — combined projects are common, and the Solutions page covers a few typical combinations. If you're not sure how surfaces should be split across your space, select 'Not Sure' or 'Combination' on the quote form and we'll help work it out.
- What areas do you service?
- TerraLawn & Paving is based in Cape Town and also works across Robertson, Hermanus and Langebaan. Exact coverage for a specific address is confirmed at quote stage.
